横浜市緑区の霧が丘グリーンタウンの商店街に、カフェ＆ベーカリー「ぷかぷか」がオープンした。
オープニングパーティでは、まず、「ぷかぷか」で働く障害のあるメンバーが挨拶。
「黒色テント」のメンバーによる宮沢賢治の作品の朗読や、ろう者と聴者がともに活動する人形劇グループ「デフパペットシアター・ひとみ」の人形劇、「風の器」で活動するろう者の俳優である庄崎隆志さんのパフォーマンスがおこなわれた。お店の前には数十人の人が集まり、まるで小さな野外劇場のようだった。
以前から「ぷかぷか」を応援してくれている人、プレオープンで開店を知っていて楽しみにしてくれていた人、近所の保育園に子どもを預けているお母さん。霧が丘グリーンタウンに住んでいる人。さまざまな人が集まり、開店と同時に、お店の前にはお客さんの列ができた。カレーパンやアンパン、肉まんなどは、早々に売り切れていった。
「ぷかぷか」のお店の特長を簡単に紹介すると、主に２つ。
１つは、素材にこだわり、安心して食べられるパンを製造販売していること。
２つめは、障害者と一緒に働く場であることだ。
ぷかぷかで販売しているパンは、国産小麦、天然酵母を使い、卵や牛乳、ショートニングなどは使わない。バターも一部の製品に使っているのみ。
私は食パンを１斤購入したが、帰りの電車の中でパンを入った袋の中から、ほんのりとよい香りが漂っていた。パンを口入れて、噛めば噛むほど甘みが増すような気がするのは、素材がよいからだと思う。
２つ目の特長である、障害のあるメンバーと一緒に働く場としては、どうだろう？
お客さんに「いらっしゃいませ」「ありがとうございます」をはっきり大きな声で言えるメンバー。お客さんにしっかり対応できる、商品を袋に詰めることがきちんとできるメンバーの姿は頼もしく見えた。
障害のあるメンバーはそれぞれ、得意、不得意がある。それぞれに適した働き方を探り、それぞれの仕事をこなせるような場をつくっていくのはこれからかもしれない。
簡単に書いてしまったが、カフェ＆ベーカリーとして収益を上げ、経営を成り立たせることと、障害のあるメンバーが楽しく働ける場を両立することは、とても大きな課題だと思う。
半年ほど前、あるテレビ番組で、障害者が働くパン屋「スワンベーカリー」を開店した女性店長が紹介されていた。開店から数年を経て経営難となり、その店舗は閉店した。彼女は、今、福祉の枠で障害者と接しているという内容だった。
「福祉と、経営の両立は、難しいと思います」
店長だった女性のコメントは、とても重かった。
「ぷかぷか」は、今日、お店の扉を開けた。
これから先が、本当のはじまりだと感じている。

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod's. It works well, but isn't as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It's very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

Between me and my husband we've owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I've settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.
Hands down, Apple's app store wins by a mile. It's a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I'm not sure I'd want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
Sorry for the huge review, but I'm really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it's the right choice for you.
